Up On The Monster Interviews
"Up On The Monster" is a fan website devoted to bringing our readers a vast and orderly assortment of links to news and information concerning the team on and off the field. However, we also do our best to deliver original material. In our first year a decision was made to try and contact Red Sox personalities from the past present and future as well as other personalities surrounding the game of baseball for the purpose of interviewing them. Below is a list of those personalities who were kind enough to give some of their valuable time and sit down for an interview.
Former Red Sox lefty Bill "Spaceman" Lee became the very first Red Sox personality to grant us an interview. Always entertaining and ready to speak his mind Lee answers questions on a number of topics as only the Spaceman can. Following the interview are links to his work as an author after his career. Each is entertaining and has on display one of the most free thinking minds on this planet we call Earth.
Jacoby Ellsbury is a prized Red Sox prospect. Since being drafted out of college two years ago Ellsbury has impressed minor league scouts, who project great things from this centerfielder. Blessed with speed and superb baseball instincts, Ellsbury is a prospect that Red Sox fans long to see in Fenway Park as soon as possible. The Sox prized prospect was kind enough to sit down with "Up On The Monster" prior to a minor league contest during the 2006 season.
"Baseball America" is the defining and most recognized source of information on MLB prospects from the minor leagues to players in high school and college who are being eyed by MLB scouts. The most recognizable face face and voice in the publication is Jim Callis, who sat down with "Up On The Monster" last season and fielded a variety of questions from our members.
There are a lot of first time authors these days. But it isn't everyday that a first time author decides to write a fictional story with the Boston Red Sox as it's main backdrop. After publishing his first book, "The Curse of Carl Mays" Howard Camerik was more than willing to submit to an interview with a Red Sox fan site.
"Up On The Monster" will continue its quest to track down personalities from the Red Sox past, present and future as well as other baseball personalities. If you have an idea for an interview or can supply information on how to track down a personality please contact the administrator of this website.
